The F1 fandom was abuzz after the incident between Lando Norris and Oscar Piastri in Singapore. Lando and Oscar made contact, leading to Oscar losing his position. Oscar asked for his position back, but Lando was not penalized for his actions during the race, or forced to return the position to his teammate. However, there were multiple times when Oscar was forced to give his position back to Lando, including during a ‘slow pit-stop’ during the Italian GP earlier in September. Because of this lack of response from the team, many fans were quite upset. A while after the race, McLaren announced that Lando will face a ‘Marginal Sporting Penalty’ for the rest of the season but the team has not disclosed what that would be.
