As the 2025 season has started unfolding, McLaren and RedBull (or more specifically, Max Verstappen) have entered the trenches of a heated competition. Will our orange duo be changing things up and receiving the championship this season? Lando remains at the forefront of our grid with Max following close behind.
Alex Albon has soared his way up, getting p5 in Australia, p7 in China, and p9 in Japan. He scored four more points than the entirety of the last season in just two races. This is quite incredible. Unfortunately, Sainz fans are not as happy though, after he unfortunately DNF’d in Australia, received p10 in China, and p14 in Japan. He is clearly suffering quite a bit in his new team now, but there is certainly hope for things to improve moving forward.
Tifosi (Ferrari Fanbase) is certainly in need of therapy, or at the very least anti-depressants, because what is going on team? Following some pretty funny radio messages between our red duo and the crew we experienced the most saddening double DSQ. We even thought we had a chance after Lewis took pole at sprint and won. Maybe this is proof that Lewis is most successful when his engineer -leaves him to it-. Either way, life was worth living again. Until it wasn’t. Hopefully Ferrari can become the F1 superpower they used to be soon (maybe some time within the next 10 years).
Japan was incredibly boring, even for the drivers. The top 10 pretty much ended where they started, literally. Except for Lewis, who crossed Isack and made p7. However, we can’t say the same for Kimi Antonelli. He was recorded the youngest ever race starter since Max Verstappen in Spain 2016. Not only did this man also set fastest lap in Suzuka, he was also the youngest to ever do so. Unfortunate that they are no longer giving points for fastest lap. This young 18 year old rookie, who is also still going to school, has everyone on the edge of their seats.
As for the other rookies, they seem to be taking a little more time to find their bearings. Isack Hadjar faced a blow to the face in Australia when he crashed during the formation lap. Thankfully he received support from many of the drivers, and even a father of a driver. Anthony Hamilton, we love you. Helmut Marko, however, claimed that Isack crying was ‘embarrassing’, and in the nicest way possible, what is wrong with this man? Liam lost his position in RedBull, and has now been swapped with Yuki in V-Carb. We all knew that a mid-season swap was underway for Yuki and Liam, but fans were still abuzz. Did RedBull make the right decision? Some fans are saying that this will be a negative on Yuki’s career because of his competition with Max, but some are also very happy that Yuki is finally getting the opportunity to showcase his talents. Many are very disappointed for Liam, and were hoping that Liam had more of a shot in RedBull, given that he is also just a rookie.
A lot is already happening this season, a lot more is coming. As a Ferrari fan, I really hope to see at least ONE of them on the podium soon. Maybe in Bahrain? Stay tuned!
