Lewis Hamilton is back at it! 9th win and 15th podium at Silverstone, 104th win overall, all in his home race. It was a very exciting time for Mercedes fans given the team’s internal struggles with their W15. It was also very surprising to see the P1 and P2 quali results from Russell and Hamilton, respectively. I know I was very surprised. Though George started P1, unfortunately he was forced to retire on lap 34 due to suspected water system issues.
Hamilton claims that his latest victory felt different from the rest. It was his first in a while, and the weather outside definitely added some additional challenges for the drivers overall. Fans were delighted. Additionally, this would be his last race in Silverstone with Mercedes, before he makes the big switch to Ferrari.
After this race, people are abuzz about Hamilton’s switch all over instagram and social media. They all wonder, now that Mercedes has finally improved, what is going to happen when Hamilton is in Ferrari? Is he ever going to see a win like this again?
